Filling

A filling is used to fix a cavity in a tooth.  Cavities are decayed areas of your teeth that present as holes or soft areas of the tooth. Cavities can develop on any surface of a tooth including between teeth and on the roots.  Popular filling materials include amalgam (silver) and composite resin (white), with composite being the most preferred since it is tooth-colored.

At Crosstown Dental Group, we restore teeth with composite resin fillings so we can match the exact shade of your tooth.  In general, composite fillings have less post-treatment sensitivity since composites do not contract and expand with temperature fluctuations as amalgam fillings do
