Complete Dentures Partial Dentures

Complete dentures, sometimes called a “plate”,  are full-coverage oral prosthetic devices that replace a complete arch of missing teeth.  Most dentures are fabricated months after a patient has healed from their extractions.  However, if teeth are wanted immediately, the denture is referred to as an “immediate denture.”  Immediate dentures have the great benefit of providing instant teeth, however, due to the healing process, they will need to be resized after a few months of wear.  This resizing is known as a “reline” and it may be needed one or more times during the healing process.

Additionally, patients can have 2 or more implants placed in an arch to support the complete denture.  The implants provide more stability and security for the denture while you talk and chew.
